Day 63: Tuesday 20 May - Not A Lot Happened, by Ken

We had got into the habit of starting the day watching breakfast television to keep abreast of the news and weather. The news had been dominated by Rolf Harris’ trial on charges of indecent assault. The weather forecasts had been a mixed bag, but had generally got it right.

Today the weather forecast for Dorset was for heavy rain and thunder, the dark heavy clouds to the west seemed to bear this out. We decided not to risk the 4 mile walk we had planned to Corfe Castle which was along an exposed ridge line.

The day wasn’t wasted, I spent most of it catching up on this blog and publishing it. Jane had a poddle around the shops in Swanage. Apart from a light spattering of rain, the forecast bad weather didn’t eventuate which was frustrating.

Lunch was our usual bread, cheese and dips while dinner comprised a baked potato filled with left over chicken and corn with a salad.
